[R&D Diary Vol.04] Dr. Ben: The "Stuck Thorn" in Your Back? That’s Your Trapezius Calling for Help

Created on 03.03
Hello everyone, I’m Ben.
During my years as an engineer in Fukuoka, my biggest fear wasn't a bug in the code—it was that persistent, "unreachable" ache deep inside my shoulder blades.
Does this sound familiar? After hours at your desk, the muscles below your neck and behind your shoulders feel "frozen." If ignored, this stiffness quickly turns into throbbing pain, even leading to dizziness and insomnia. This troublesome area is your Trapezius muscle.
Anatomy diagram of the trapezius muscle
As an engineer, I looked into the data: when we hunch over screens, the trapezius stays under constant tension, causing chronic micro-tears in the fibers and, eventually, deep inflammation.
I was a victim of this too. I tried fascia guns, but they were exhausting to hold and couldn't hit the spot. Back-rest massagers? Their heads were too blunt to reach that narrow gap between the shoulder blades. Only the deep "plucking and kneading" of a master masseur could truly "quench my thirst" for relief.

My solemn advice: Don’t wait until the pain ruins your sleep. By then, the muscle damage is severe.
Adjust your habits early—stand up, stretch, and move. But if you’re as busy as I was, I recommend the NIPLIFE Trapezius Massager. It mimics a master's hands to knead away stiffness the moment it starts.
